Statement Of Faith
The Holy Scriptures
The Bible is the preserved,
plenary-verbally inspired Word of God. Inerrant in the original writings and the
only infallible rule of faith, doctrine, and practice. It is our authority as to
the will of God. It can not be changed or added to by church organizations, or
by individuals. Nor can man’s traditions be of the same authority. (II
Timothy 3: 16,17) (II Peter 1: 20, 21) (Matthew 5:18) (I Thessalonians 2: 13)
(Revelations 22: 18)
The Existence of a Triune
Godhead
The Godhead eternally exists in three
distinct persons--the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit--and that these three are
God; having precisely the same attributes, power and glory, and deserving the
same homage, confidence and obedience. (Mark 12:29) (John I 14) (II Corinthians
13:14) (Hebrews 1: 1-3) (Revelation 1: 4-6)
The Person and Work of
Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son
of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy
Spirit and born of a virgin, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful
man. And, that He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as
a substitute sacrifice and, our redemption is made sure to us by His literal
physical resurrection from the dead. (John 1:1,2) (Luke 1:35) (Romans 3: 24,25)
(Romans 4:25) (I Peter 1:3-5) Furthermore, the Lord Jesus Christ is now in
heaven exalted at the right hand of God, where as the High Priest for his
people, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
(Acts 1:9) (Hebrews 7:25) (Hebrews 9:24) (Romans 8:34) (I John 2:
1,2)
The Person and Work of the Holy
Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of
the Godhead who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
(John 16: 7-15). He is the Divine Teacher who guides believers into all truth;
and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the
Spirit. (I John 2: 20, 27) (Ephesians 5:18)
The Total Depravity of
Man
Man was created in the image and
likeness of God, and that in Adam's sin the race fell, inheriting a sinful
nature and thus every person has become alienated from God, totally depraved and
unable of himself to remedy his lost condition. (Genesis 1: 26, 27) (Romans 3:
22, 23 5: 12) (Ephesians 2: 12)
Salvation
Salvation is a gift (it cannot be
earned) from God brought to man by grace (unmerited favor) and received by
personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on
Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Ephesians 2: 8-10) (John 1: 12)
(Ephesians 1:7) (I Peter 1: 18, 19) (John 6: 37-40 10: 27-30) (II
Corinthians 5: 19)
